    Yes Way Vacay!

    Happy Friday!

I hope y’all have had an excellent week!  This week for me was crazy.  A lot of back & forth to Charlotte, which has been great visiting friends and all & today I’m heading back for a day trip to drop Boomy off for his little vacay too.  I’m going to miss him so so much, but know he will be in the best of hands (he has the best adopted Dog Mamas in all of 704) & I’ll see him in a week.  If you can’t tell, I’m pretty in love with my sweet little pup.  Anyway, moving right through my silly teary eyes, if you read my post yesterday, you know that I am heading on vacay tomorrow and I am so so excited about it!  This is my first long vacation all summer so I am V pumped about it.

I am loving this cute little tee from Old Navy and right now it is on sale for only $12.  Such a great little end of summer snag.  Also I’ve been obsessed with these Sam Edelman slide on sandals pretty much all summer.  They are so easy to throw on and really go with a lot of different things.  Cut-offs, dresses, a cute romp – put them with these and you’ll have a great look on ya!

These BaubleBar dupes are from New York & Company.  They are just like the yellow ones I posted a couple weeks ago on IG.  And although I love the heck out of Baublebar, this particular pair was a part of NY & Co.’s buy one pair get two free.  Literally the best BOGO deal ever so I couldn’t pass it up & I’m glad I didn’t.

Next week be sure to still check out my Insta & Snap stories.  I will definitely be enjoying time with my sweet fam, but also sharing our fun weekly adventures with y’all so stay tuned!

How to Pack (Even if You’re an Over-Packer)

    Hi lovies –

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!  On Tuesday I went down to Charlotte to visit some friends & attend a Beauty Counter Social – it was such a good time!  I learned a lot about their products and how to be more educated when purchasing cosmetics.  One of the things I was most shocked to learn was that there hasn’t been a major law passed since 1938 to regulate the safety of ingredients put into personal care items.  Yea, you read that correctly.  Basically they can put pretty much whatever in cosmetics, shampoo, lotion, etc. and call it nearly whatever.  So Beauty Counter decided to do something about it.  It’s a great company and if you haven’t checked them out yet, you definitely should.

In two days I will be heading to the beach on my family vacay and I could not be more excited!!  It will be so nice to get away for a week and just relax and hang with them.  But first, packing.  Oh packing.  How I always overpack.  Like even for just a weekend.  It’s bad.  I seem to always over-pack my clothes, but really also shoes.  SO I made it a goal to pack smarter for this week long trip and I decided to share this info with y’all!  Obviously these tips of mine will vary depending on the trip you’re taking and how long you’ll be gone, but hopefully y’all can use them as a guideline or reminder and hopefully you’ll take something away from my particular list!

Summer, Summer Vacay, Family Trip, Beach, NC Beaches, North Carolina Coast, Lifestyle Blogger, FBlogger, Fashion Blogger, Beauty Blogger, Style Influencer, Packing Tips, Summer 2017, Summer Style, T.J. Maxx, Old Navy, Lush, Nordstrom, Express, H&M, Sam Edelman, DV for Target, Dolce Vita, Forever 21, Just U.S.A Jeans, Nike, Madewell, Lulu Lemon, NY & Co, New York & Company, tayloringstyle

Here are some tips for packing (even if you are an over-packer):

1 – Duration of your trip • Think about how many days you’re going to be gone.  I’ve told myself I don’t need to take 6 different v-neck tops.  Instead I can take maybe 3 because I’ll also take you know a couple of casual tanks too so I can pump the brakes on the tops.  Yes you always want to take maybe one JIC outfit, but ya don’t need to take 3 JIC outfits (does anyone else do this?!).

2 – Clothes • What are you going to be doing on your trip?  Will it mostly be low-key dinners out on your porch or nights out?  What’s your day time looking like?  Are you shopping, beaching, being sporty?  For me, this trip will mostly involve beach time so swimsuits (3-4) , cover-ups (2-3), denim shorts (3), and v-necks (3) will be a majority of my suitcase + I know that we will have at least one nice dinner out so I’ll decide ahead of time which dress I want to take to wear just to save some space in my suitcase.  My niece & nephew will be on this trip too so it will be mostly casual, fun, & low-key dinners at the house so I don’t have to plan out too many ‘dressed-up’ looks.

3 – Shoes • One thing I somehow always over-pack.  This time I’m limiting myself to ONE pair of wedges  (I usually try to cram 2 or 3 in), one pair of tennies, a pair of beach flip-flops, and probably two, but maybeee three pairs of flat sandals.

4 – Personal Care + Cosmetics • This is a category of packing that I’ve been working on recently when I’ve been traveling.  I finally cleaned out & organized my bag that I use to pack my shampoo, face-wash, etc. in.  I have a ton of samples in this bag and I just pile stuff on top of it and it’s honestly been a mess y’all. SO on my last weekend trip, I cleaned it out and only took what I needed and that is something I will also do for this trip.  I’m making better use of these samples to save space and not pack both the samples & my regular size of products.  As far as make-up goes for this trip, I know that I will be taking some pictures and that we will be going to a nice dinner and probably a few other meals so I’ll bring all of my day-to-day make-up, but I don’t really need to pack all of my eyeshadow palettes and liquid liner.  Mostly basics will do!

5 – Accessories • My accessories this trip will be V simple.  I know I will be taking 2-3 pairs of fun earrings, a necklace or two, and duh a beach hat & bag.  I will also be taking a book or two to read on the beach and some headphones for the car.  Although I won’t be working a whole lot this trip, I will also take my laptop to put up a couple different posts for y’all and of course I’ll take my camera!

I hope that these packing tips were helpful!  I know that writing this post really helped me get myself organized for this trip and ready to put all my things in my suitcase later tomorrow.  Leave a comment below & let me know what y’all think and if you ever have to cut yourself off from over-packing.  I love hearing from y’all!

    Enjoy your Friday-eve!

    More Lace Satin Tanks, Please

    Hi everyone –

What did everyone think of the Bachelorette last night?!  I was honestly so shocked that Rachel sent Dean home especially with his hometown date and the way it went.  I thought I heard her say she was in love with him and he confirmed that when she sent him home.  So sad.  I am torn about who I would rather be the next bachelor – Dean or Peter (if she doesn’t choose him)?!  What do y’all think??

Okay so we’ve heard so much about the Nordstrom Sale and all of it’s glory and I don’t know about y’all with everything flying off of their shelves I’m like ‘ugh, dang it!’.  SO what I’ve sort of started doing is searching for some similar items in some other places.  Don’t get me wrong, Nordstrom is one of my top 3 favorite places to shop and just be.  But, when I see something cute that I want in my closet, I will definitely shop around until I find something almost identical or that I like just as much.  With that being said, the BP. lace tank from the #NSale, is one of my favorite items from the same & right now it’s not even on their website, hopefully it will come back in stock and I’m sure it will – but if you’re sometimes impatient like me, you may be interested in some other options and today I’m going to share those with you.

Here is my first look with a similar tank:

Tuesday, #NSale, NSale Dupes, Forever 21, Tanks under $20, H&M, Style Influencer, FBlogger, Summer Style, Summer Trends, July, Summer 2017, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, Fashion Blogger, Style Collective, Personal Style, tayloringstyle

Tuesday, #NSale, NSale Dupes, Forever 21, Tanks under $20, H&M, Style Influencer, FBlogger, Summer Style, Summer Trends, July, Summer 2017, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, Fashion Blogger, Style Collective, Personal Style, tayloringstyle

This tank is from Forever 21 and was under $15.  It doesn’t have the lace trim, but it is still super cute and that satin material.  I have styled it with cut-off jean shorts with just the front tucked in, but it would also be cute with high-waisted denim (blue, black, white, or light-wash).

Tuesday, #NSale, NSale Dupes, Forever 21, Tanks under $20, H&M, Style Influencer, FBlogger, Summer Style, Summer Trends, July, Summer 2017, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, Fashion Blogger, Style Collective, Personal Style, tayloringstyle

Tuesday, #NSale, NSale Dupes, Forever 21, Tanks under $20, H&M, Style Influencer, FBlogger, Summer Style, Summer Trends, July, Summer 2017, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, Fashion Blogger, Style Collective, Personal Style, tayloringstyle

Another plus about this tank is that it is super comfy.  If y’all can’t tell by now, I am a hugeee fan of comfort & versatility.

Here is my second look with another satin tank:

Tuesday, #NSale, NSale Dupes, Forever 21, Tanks under $20, H&M, Style Influencer, FBlogger, Summer Style, Summer Trends, July, Summer 2017, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, Fashion Blogger, Style Collective, Personal Style, tayloringstyle

Tuesday, #NSale, NSale Dupes, Forever 21, Tanks under $20, H&M, Style Influencer, FBlogger, Summer Style, Summer Trends, July, Summer 2017, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, Fashion Blogger, Style Collective, Personal Style, tayloringstyle

So I also got this tank at Forever 21 for under $6 y’all.  I mean come. on.  You can’t beat that!  It has a mesh sort of v-neck line and also has just a satin v (minus the mesh material) in the back.  I have it styled here with the STS Blue high-waisted jeans.  I loveee these.  They’re currently on sale for under $50!  They’re seriously SO comfy and I’m obsessed with the high-waistedness + the exposed buttons.  There is also a semi-distressed look down at the ankle.  These can be worn with booties (like I’m wearing here), with flats, or a good pair of sneakers.  So back to the tank, it can be styled like I have here or would look amaze with black jeans and a longer jacket/cardigan in the fall, but for the end of summer it would be great with a good pair of cut-off shorts or tucked into a midi-skirt.

Tuesday, #NSale, NSale Dupes, Forever 21, Tanks under $20, H&M, Style Influencer, FBlogger, Summer Style, Summer Trends, July, Summer 2017, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, Fashion Blogger, Style Collective, Personal Style, tayloringstyle

I think this type of look is great for date night or a laid back cookout at a friends house!  You could change out the booties for some open toe wedges or mules with a little heel.  So. Cute!

Tuesday, #NSale, NSale Dupes, Forever 21, Tanks under $20, H&M, Style Influencer, FBlogger, Summer Style, Summer Trends, July, Summer 2017, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, Fashion Blogger, Style Collective, Personal Style, tayloringstyle

Either of these tanks would also look cute with a light cardigan, blazer, leather jacket, (really the list goes on) over them and a good pair of work pants that would be appropriate for the office.  Then after work if you are heading to a cocktail hour, you could always toss that jacket aside, rock your satin tank, & enjoy that drink girlfriend!  Go on with ya stylin’ self.

I hope that this post was helpful & that y’all are able to snag up a satin tank for the end of summer/fall season.

7 Swingy Summer Dresses Under $25

Monday Morning You Sure Look Fine –

I hope all of you GOT-ers are waking up happy!  Even though I myself do not watch this show, besides the #NSale the past few days, this is probs the second topic that is all the rave.  Onto the 3rd topic that may or may not be all the rave, who is excited for the Bachelorette tonight?!  #hometowns, can’t wait!  I wonder who will go home?!  I cheated and read the spoilers this season soo we’ll see if they’re true.

If y’all saw my post from Friday then you know that this week is pretty busy for me.  I will be doing some more planning & prepping for posts for when I am at the beach next week with my family (can’t wait!) and then I’ll be in Charlotte for Tuesday, some of Wednesday, & then back to CLT on Friday to drop Boomer off as he will be staying with some friends of mine while we are at the beach.  We didn’t realize until it was too late to change places that the place we rented doesn’t allow dogs :(, sad day.  But I know Boomy will get some QT in with his CLT peeps & pups so at least he will be in good hands & paws.

Moving on, today I want to share with y’all this cute, comfy, & swingy dress that I found for under $15 + 6 other similar dresses that are under $25!  Seriously, I wish they had this dress I’m wearing below in 5 different colors because I would own all 5.  Sometimes dresses like this fit me weird because I’m only 5’2″, like I’ll look all boxy or they are too long.  Not this dress.  Thank you, Forever 21 for making my comfy, swingy dress dreams come true.  I’m wearing this dress with some Caslon slides, but they would obvi look cute with some Converse tennies or probably almost any other sneaker.  You could also just wear some sandals or a little heeled mule.

    Summer Skincare

    Hola loves –

I hope everyone has had a great weekend!  Mine has been pretty low-key, yet productive as I’ve been prepping and planning content for the blog for the next couple of weeks especially for the last week of July when I’ll be on fam vacay.  My goal is to obviously finalize my posts for this upcoming week, but also get my posts ready to go for the last week of July too becauseee family vacay!  I’m so pumped about the family vacay – we’re getting away to the beach for a whole week!

Anyway, I want to share my summer skincare routine with y’all.  Some of these products I’ve used for a while now, but some I have been trying out and wanted to give y’all the 4-1-1 on them.

Skincare, Summer Skincare, One Love Organics, Comfort Zone, Trader Joe's, Trader Joe's Tea Tree Oil, Clarisonic, Nordstrom, Target, Organic, All Natural, Beauty, Beauty Blogger, Lifestyle Blogger, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, tayloringstyle

Here is my typical go-to nightly skincare routine:

Skincare, Summer Skincare, One Love Organics, Comfort Zone, Trader Joe's, Trader Joe's Tea Tree Oil, Clarisonic, Nordstrom, Target, Organic, All Natural, Beauty, Beauty Blogger, Lifestyle Blogger, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, tayloringstyle

I love the One Love Organics brand.  Their packaging is so pretty and all of their products are all natural and organic.  My definite go-to for a quick cleansing and an easy eye make-up remover is the OLO Vitamin B Cleansing Oil.  It does such a great job of taking off all of your make-up and feels great on your skin.  In addition to the OLO Vitamin B Cleansing Oil, sometimes (usually right before & during my period) I will use the Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Oil Cleanser to wash my face then use the OLO Vitamin B Cleansing Oil just to take my eye make-up off with.  This TJ Tea Tree Oil Cleanser obvi contains tea tree oil which is great for clearing up your skin if you have any blemishes.

Skincare, Summer Skincare, One Love Organics, Comfort Zone, Trader Joe's, Trader Joe's Tea Tree Oil, Clarisonic, Nordstrom, Target, Organic, All Natural, Beauty, Beauty Blogger, Lifestyle Blogger, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, tayloringstyle

Pictured above is my ‘routine’ for when I get a few blemishes.  Like I mentioned earlier, I use this TJ Tea Tree Oil Cleanser, then I use the Nature’s Sunshine Tea Tree Oil, and if it’s serious business I also add on this Mario Badescu Drying Lotion – this is my bye bye blemish trifecta.  Butttt, sometimes these can dry out my skin and then that’s where this One Love Organics OH MEGA Calming Chia Oil comes into play.  I don’t use it in combination with the two, but it can help calm your dry and/or red skin if the bye bye blemish trifecta gets to ya too much.  It will soothe your red, dry skin.  So if my skin is just feeling yuck after the blemishes have come and gone, I will put a drop or two of this product where the blemishes were to help calm that area of my face and y’all, it helps!  Another product I grabbed a sample of from Sephora and found works similar to the OLO OH Mega Calming Oil is the Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal Extract Toner.  Calendula oil can be used on mosquito bites and help soothe a number of different things, even irritated skin so I found this Kiehl’s toner to also be amazing.

So after cleansing my face, I use the One Love Organics Morning Glory Caffeinated Firming Serum particularly around my eyes and in between my eyes. Yes, even though it has ‘morning glory’ in the name of the product, I use it at night.  This product helps to moisturize, brighten, & firm your skin.  After using this serum, I’ve been applying the One Love Organics Skin Dew Coconut Water Cream and it is very moisturizing.

Skincare, Summer Skincare, One Love Organics, Comfort Zone, Trader Joe's, Trader Joe's Tea Tree Oil, Clarisonic, Nordstrom, Target, Organic, All Natural, Beauty, Beauty Blogger, Lifestyle Blogger, Kernersville Blogger, Winston-Salem Blogger, NC Blogger, tayloringstyle

I use the Vitamin D Moisture Mist more during the day time, sort of as a setting spray and then if I am feeling dry throughout the day, I just spray a little on my face.  It feels so good!

So real talk here for a minute – I had planned this whole post last week and I really do love all of these products and have been using them for quite some time now; however I did want to share something with y’all that I learned when I went to get my facial done on Friday.  My esthetician said that the OLO Skin Dew Coconut Water Cream could be causing some of my break-outs.  Even though it is great if your skin is dry, but if you apply it to areas that are a little more oily and/or break-out more often (for me this is my chin), then it can cause your pores to just hold that product in them and therefore make you break-out.  SO with that being said, I am now trying out some of the Comfort Zone Active Pureness line for a couple of weeks, which for those of you who don’t know, these products are made by Davines, and they make amazing hair products!  So give definitely give all of the products I’ve mentioned above a try as I definitely recommend them, but just know that I may have a couple of new favorites coming to you soon AND if you have oily skin I would just be warned about the OLO Skin Dew Coconut Water Cream.  It may very well work for someone else and I will be a little jeals, but I do love the product, we are just doing a little trial to see if maybe that was causing my chin to break out a little more than usual.  Hope that makes sense!

As always, if you have any questions about any of the above please feel free to contact me.  You can shoot me an e-mail (tayloringstyle@gmail.com) or DM me on IG (@tayloringstyle), I always love to hear from y’all.

I hope this was helpful to y’all and that you get a chance to try out some of these products!  If you’re local (or even if you’re not – they ship), Lizzie’s Herb Shop in Kernersville carries the One Love Organics line as well as the Nature’s Sunshine Tea Tree Oil.  Let me know if y’all have any questions and/or let me know which products you try out and how you like them!
